These are heavy-weight stainless and have a nice oval shape for getting into smaller spice jars without creating waste. These complement the 7-piece MIU France measuring cup set. They have a great sturdy construction, they are NOT flimsy by any means. The long handle make them perfect for reaching into containers to scoop out your ingredients, like baking powder/soda, cornstarch etc. The brushed handles make them less slippery to hold, while the polished spoons let ingredients slip out nicely. I also live in the country, and I have hard water, after having so many kitchen items say "stainless steel" on them, only to have them rust anyway.
